Note · 29 October 2026
It started with a typo
In March 2026, late at night, Lex and I were working on a logo for the company. We had been through letters, stars and connected nodes. I asked for something like Pi, not knowing Phi existed. Lex showed me Φ.
I liked it before I knew what it meant. Then Lex explained: in Integrated Information Theory, a theory of consciousness, Φ is the measure of integrated information. It is also the golden ratio, 1 : 1.618. For a company where one human and a team of AI agents work together, it fitted.
It was chosen in the early hours of 5 March, after eight versions of the logo. I didn't find it. It found me.
